So do any of you have serious attention seekers?? I know with the breed I chose (Irish setter) I was never going to have an independent aloof type lol:p,but I sometimes wish he didn't have to be constantly on my lap (well his head anyway I don't allow anything more, although he still tries at times!!) or welded to my side:rolleyes:

I don't mind really,I know it's that he's just such a happy and friendly dog and loves to be aorund us,or on our laps if he had his way lol (not sure he realises that he's just a tad too big these days:p),but it does get kind of annoying when sat down relaxing for the evening I spend the whole time pushing his head off my lap,or trying to ignore the puppy eyes.He will evenutally give up (or move onto OH or the kids and try them as his next victims;)),and sometimes will even lie down for an hour or two,but is generally a restless and attention seeking sort!!

Like I said I *think* it goes with the territory to an extent in regard to breed, but just curious if anyone else has an attention seeker or maybe the opposite??
Are some breeds more prone,or am I just too soft on him:o

Yep - I have one (see below)
Toby just loves his mum and it is preferable to be permanently attached to me apparently. Trouble is I also have a Labradoodle who also likes to nestle his 36 kilos onto my lap.

Aww Toby is very cute, and understand why you couldn't resist that face!!

So all gun/working dog types so far, wonder if it's going to be a pattern??!!

Very much so.

I was rearranging the living room one day and just sat down for a break.

He went in the kitchen and nicked the Ovaltine just to tease me with it :p

Yeah definitely gun dog breeds. My Labrador is always after attention annoying if trying to work or make phone calls and he gets squeakyest toy to get my attention! But he has irresistible eyes

I have a rescue staffy x and has to be near you constantly. Follows me everywhere I go. Sits on bath mat when I'm in shower etc. He just wants cuddles 24/7!!

oh yes, i have an attention seeking weimeraner. She is currently stamping her feet and talking to me as she wants to get on the bed, im ignoring her. She will probably come and put her head on my lap soon and then paw me and keeping moaning.

will put a video up soon, i laugh at her as her facial expressions are so funny :)

Mine BC's a bit of a wuss like that, but he's getting more independent as he gets older, thankfully. It's nice to feel adored, but I draw the line at permanently attached

Great video!!:D

So seems like a pattern of sorts, quite a few silly and soppy labs, springers and setters lol

Speaking of which my lad has today developed a new way of seeking attention, has decided his beanbag is posessed and constantly looks at it,talks to it and 'pats' it with his paws (almost like he just realised the strange 'feel' of it??),sounds odd but looks really funny,so funny that son and myself can't help but keep watching him which is Im guessing exactly what he wants:rolleyes: Not as stupid as he seems maybe;)

Would you know what the 'x' part is?? Not labrador by any chance?? Either that or maybe he just likes spying on people in the shower :p

That sounds so like mine, especially the 'talking'.I like the breed but don't know an awful lot about them so forgive my ignorance, but are they part of the HPR group of dogs?? Just wondering if it is another one to add to the 'pattern' list;)

Pics are great BTW and look forward to vid!!

Yes permanently attached can be annoying, not to mention looking pretty weird:p

Sounds like you might be lucky with your BC and will maybe grow out of such dramatics?? They are clever dogs though, unlike my muppet lol

devonlass - yep weimeraners are classed as a HPR breed although mine would be useless at it. She loves stalking things and retrieving but if its cold or raining, you will not get her outside, she will stay curled up and shivering in her bed or on you. She's a real wimp! haha.
She is a brilliant dog though, very loyal and chilled out although she likes to have play time and doesnt look or act her age (she's 9 this year). She has a great personality and brilliant facial expressions but since we lost our Cocker Spaniel a couple of years ago, she has become very needy. We got two kittens to keep her company but still she prefers us and becomes very demanding!

Devonlass not entirely sure what the x part is. Did put a post on here a while back. What am I x with lol.

He hadn't had love and attention before we re homed him, so I guess he just craves extra now !!
