My cob will do all he can to let me know his around,for example lifts his food bowl out had that thrown at me, his headcollar thrown at me as can pull it off the hook outside, and is good at digging up his banks of Bedmax that comes flying out of the door(Has his door open with his bar up).......had a visit from another HHO'er who watched his antics, she said he was a real character......Is yours like this!

Yep! Maybe it's something to do with bedmax... I love throwing it at the walls, and me and my horse often throw it around together! And it smells nice!

He'll stamp, throw things, pick up crops, drag me by the back of my coat, the list goes on!

If he's tied up, and I'm busy sweeping, or tidying or something (where he can see me) he'll make as much noise as he can, until I come and fuss over him, and then he's as good as gold. He also drops things on your head if you're outside his stable and not paying him attention.

mine's the same! incredibly irritating but in a sweet way. infortuantly he's like this in the field too and goes looking for attention/trouble! and ends up with the war wounds!
 
All mine are well boring! I want to have things thrown at me!! My boys just stand there either munching, weaving or cribbing!

My section D cross goes nuts if I'm in sight but not paying him attyension. Especially if I've just got to the yard and stop to talk to someone before saying hello to him (his stable is at the end of the yard). He throws all of his toys right out of the pram and stomps and paws the ground and pulls the most awful faces at anyone else that goes near him, until I walk up to him when then he is an absolute angel. However if I then walk away he starts all over again. And if I DARE speak to another horse then he gets really cross and starts to bang the door (a pet hate of mine) until I shout at him to shut up. Then he sulks.

I spose its his way of showing that he cares. Must be a cob thing, or a welshie thing.
 
YEP!!!!

this evening we played IT!!!! I went to catch him....he cantered up to me, took one look at the headcollar and galloped off to the other side of the field...I walked over to him and was just about to put it on and he trotted off...i went back to the gate and he followed me....then i went to put the headcollar on and he ran off...AGAIN!!!! then he jogged round looking very pleased with himslef...squealing and shouting

Ged my 19 year old arab gurns horribly if he thinks he's being ignored. I've never seen a horse twist his face and neck in so many excrutiating ways! Also if I'm standing within reach he'll grab hold of whatever I'm wearing with his teeth - he never bites, just gets hold and gently tugs to get your attention.

With my other horse you can't leave anything within reach as whatever it is - brush, car keys, rugs, plastic bags - he'll pick up and throw at you.

My cob is good also at using my clothes to clean his mouth.....my OH said "Why is the washing machine on again!" then I show him the offending item of clothing.....nice covered in Mollichaff and mix smeared in!
 
M will do anything for attention, he is so demanding! He likes to tip all my grooming stuff out of it's huge box when I'm not looking as well as throwing his rugs on the floor. I've found him with a carrier bag over his ear and him standing on a stool! He is such a character!

Mine kept on picking his rug and flinging it up and down to get my attention the other day when i was itching the pony opposite him.

I'd go over to him, he'd drop it and i'd itch his neck. Went back to other pony and he did it again lol
 
Tia likes to knock over buckets that are left near her - fair enough
Picks up brushes in her mouth - ok not too bad
Picks up the pooper scooper in our outdoor school and trots round up to me with it - plain wierd!

yup, big lad weaves and pony has developed a technique of his own, sort of curling his head in and hitting hte door with his knee at the same time, not kicking, but shaking the door?
 
The horse I have on part loan is a right character. If you leave anything within his reach it'll picked up and chucked across the yard. If you leave a rug on his door it's dragged off and trampled on especially if its clean.

He's even picked my hat off my head while I was picking out his feet!
 
mine is very (and he's a welsh cob cross tb), he opens doors and gates unties ropes throws things, including buckets at people he doesnt like much, turns on taps if he can get to them, loads of mischievious stuff. he picks up and passes me his empty bucket to take of him too. i annoyed him by clipping him which he doesnt like and when i left his box for a minute i came back to find he'd taken my coat from where it was hung and across to a pile of poo and trampled it in

ive turned round to find him with both his front feet up on a shavings bale like a circus pony before now, he likes to kick them apart. when i had 2 boxes enclosed in a paddock i put some shavings bales outside while i mucked them both out, came out and theyd gone! horses had kicked and rolled them all down the field and bashed them in
 
Mine is too, he's also a section D and full of character. I think he just gets bored easily, he is not a horse who would ever stand around doing nothing, he always has to be up to something. The minute I'm on the yard he want's my attention, whether he's turned out or in the stable he will call straight away.

He throws things around if they are left in reach of the stable, opens gates & doors. Can escape from virtually anywhere if it suits him (he even pulled a wooden post out of the ground with his teeth once so he could get out)

I would never leave him tied up for more than a couple of seconds unattended as he unties himself the minute you turn your back , either untying the rope or pulling the headcollar over his ears! The farrier once took him out of the stable before he'd had his breakfast and couldn't keep him tied up with 2 headcollars and 3 leadropes - farrier was not amused.

I wouldn't want him any other way though!

Fudge is an easily bored section D too, he likes generally stamping on anything left around (left this the hard way) and throws his headcollar on the floor when he wants to be turned out
 
in fact at the last full livery place the guy said they were reluctant tpo turn my filly out as she would race to the gate when anyone walked past(we were by a footpath) and it was 'wrecking the field'
