I have my horse on rubber mats with a half bed of wood chips. I would like to change over to either Aubiose or Equisorb but I really can't make my mind up which one to go for. Any comments, tips would be much appreciated.

I've just ordered a pallet of Equisorb being delivered tomorrow, I've never used it before so we'll see. I was going to try the Ecobed cardboard but preferred the sound of this instead.

I've used both, prefer Aubiose as it seems more absorbant, doesn't move as much as equisorb and stays drier on top

Worth checking if your local hay supplier offers a chopped rape straw bedding such as Bedrap.
It is very absorbent, looks nice and clean and doesn't stick to manes etc as much as some of the wood pulp based ones. It's also a lot cheaper.
Have got our very dirty mare on it on mats and she now does what they're supposed to - one pile of poo in one place and one wet area in another - one much cleaner grey pony!

I really like Easibed, have used it for five years and its great. Very easy to muck out, the only things is the bags are quite heavy to lift!

I've used Bedmax and hemcore in the past...will have a look at Equisorb, becuase also trying to find a truly dust free bedding that is absorbent. Easibed..phah! I have found it absolutely horrible. Its not absorbent, the pee runs everywhere under the top layer, I have found I use 3 bales a week...expecially not nice because they are really heavy and the handling recommendation on teh packaging is for two people to lift one bale. As for the packaging being robust...B****KS!!! I have half wet bales now and each bale I have opened in the last month stinks of mould...so much for being able to store it externally. As my girl is now on box rest I'm mixing the ruddy stuff with shavings so her stable doesn't become flooded with pee. BTW, my stable neighbour uses it too, and her horses pee is under my mats! Eeeuuuwww!!!! 8 bales to go and cursing

have used both...personally i prefer equisorb because it seemed to absorb well and made a nice fluffy bed, but it is more expensive, we have rubber mats and between two very messy horses i usually use about half a bale a week which is cheaper in the long run
