Aubiose

I found it quite good and would have stuck with it but with 4 big horses it worked out really expensive even over rubber mating I was adding 1 to 2 bales a week per horse after setting up a bed. It rotted down well and quite quickly and the allotment people loved it.
I have now move to wood pellets I find them really good making a nice fuffy bed over rubber mats and only need to add 1 bag every 7 to 8 days. The bed is lovely and dry and easy to manage. They are also a lot cheaper than aubiouse I was paying £8 a bale even buying in bulk for aubiouse .I am only paying £4 a bag for large bags (20 kilo) of wood pellets.
They take a bit of getting used to and it seems really odd to put water on the bed when you set it up!
I now wouldn't go back to aubiouse.
So far the pellets look to be rotting down well .

I use Hemcore - same thing but English and it is fantastic. I have tried all makes of shavings and they are not absobent enough. I have rubber mats and use about 1.5 bales a fortnight per stable which I reckon is pretty good value for money. It also takes me only about 5-10 mins a stable to muck out (droppings only three days then I take out the wet patch.)

Ive used it and loved it. Its dust free, absorbs very well and is easy to muck out. The only problem is if eaten, it can seriously clog up the works. I didnt have the problem as mine have hay 6 times a day so dont tend to eat their bedding. I would still be using it if I could find it without having to have it imported specially from France. I live in Italy and it costs a small fortune

. Ive put all of mine on chopped wheat straw which comes all the way from Hungary and costs much less!
