August already! Weekend plans?

Had a go at sme dressage yesterday. Very pleased overall - the whole day went smoothly, he warmed up lovely and we had a play with some of the stuff we’ve worked on at home. We both get a big ring shy but I couldn’t have asked for more from F in the test, even managed to improve on a lot of things that have been an issue in the past. 67% and 4th. It was a small class but we were in good company. Only our 9th competitive test and were getting mid/ high 60s consistently.

I did find it amusing that we got 8 for the entry and 8 for halt. The bits in between, not so much...hah.

Yesterday Chill got lunged again... yawn! I just want to get back on! But she did get to try on her new Taupe colour. I quite like it.

Today I have a bit of a sore head as it was my manager's 30th last night. I'm not sure why I ended up wearing a banana costume, but I did. :D So I think I'll just give Chills a bath and a fuss when she comes in this evening.

Edited to add this, not strictly horsey but here in case anyone needs an idiot to laugh at:

I'm here too! *waves* I have a rather distinctive lorry and little black pony if you want to say hi :)

Oh no! I didn't see this before we left and had no signal for the camp!

Hope you had a fabulous time! I loved every single minute of it and and more in love with my horse than I was before and I didn't think that was possible!

Good luck with the dressage MP, sounds exciting !

The new wheels look fabulous Rosie, something for you to look forward to. I do like ifor williams, and the colour is lovely

Wimbles - will you post about the camp? Id like to give the eland lodge camps a go, but have never been so would be really interested to hear how you get on / what facilities / instructors are like etc

I will do a little report once my purchased pictures have arrived so that I can legally share with you but I had the most amazing time and everything was positive!

That's great news ! I hear a friend of a friend went on the same camp, and they have said the same. apparently the food was great too ( always a bonus )
will look forward to your report x

What happened??!!

^^ this! hope you're on the mend ESW :(

We're just back from an excellent fun lesson, had so much fun playing at the hard stuff and just what we needed to get cracking again. Straight into some half steps, Proper PSG Horse trotting ;) , some zippy pirouette canter and then all her tempis, 4s down to 1s. We've been asked to take part in a BD demo next month so that's really exciting :) but does mean we get our bums kicked a little harder beforehand

Tired but happy!

What happened??!!

Pony tripped over his own feet and landed on his stupid face (said very affectionately) I flew out side door and apparently managed to do the splits :D left knew pretty sore but lower section of right leg decided to wanted to shoot off to right :rolleyes3: nothing broken had mri yesterday so will see what damage has been done. It doesn't really hurt while straight but isn't weight bearing even in its splint. Hoping it's just a sprain of ligament :)

Idiot boy the pony is perfectly fine you will all be pleased to know (Yes I did the usual sitting on the floor with leg at funny angle....'Is the horse ok? He hasn't hurt himself has he? Oh dear my knee looks a bit odd' :D

And...ouch...!! Hope it heals quickly. Not sure whether you were indoor or outdoor, but I've stopped riding mine in the field at the moment as she is tripping over the hard ground. She's a big girl and I don't want to be squashed...

I'm glad the pony is OK but look after yourself. If you've got a ligament tear don't let them fob you off with physio, insist on having it repaired. Some NHS trusts consider 60-70% of function 'acceptable' and will say you can't have/don't need surgery but you need it to be as close to 100% as possible with horses involved!

F is looking fab Bernster, he makes a lovely shape :).
Looking forward to the camp report Wimbles!
Kira <3 as always MP ;).

In the theme of falling off...M dumped me on the common today and buggered off at speed. Fortunately the common is fully enclosed so she couldn't get on the road but there are wild pony stallions and some very marshy bits of land. She headed for the 'home' gate where my OH was waiting so he was able to run down and stop her so I could grab her. It's not done my back any favours, though she rather thoughtfully chucked me in a bush rather than on the floor so I had a softer landing :p. I swear I've fallen off her more in the last 6 months than I have in the preceding 3.5 years of ownership!
I'm going to have a bit of a rethink about what to do with her, I don't have the strength to stay on stuff that I wouldn't have even blinked at previously. Ho hum!

Oh NO DF! :( hope it wasn't a spiky bush... had visions of you picking gorse prickles out of delicate areas when I read that :(

Very glad you are ok but more relieved to read this isn't lorry related and that lorry is ok too!!! :p

No your future box is perfectly fine. He even travelled on it beautifully on the way there (other than having his head down a lot of the way?!) and am told he travelled well on the way back too although I'd taken the precaution of him going on the walker before loading and giving him a sniff of sedalin as didn't want DSW to have to deal with any funny business!

SEL we were on grass but he schools on grass daily at home :)

DF OUCH! Glad the bush was a slightly softer landing! Have already paid for private mri and will probably go down the route of private consult about results and take it from there. I was probably not 100% before due to old running injuries so certainly don't want to be much worse off that before if it can be helped :)

It was (thankfully) a soft-ish bush! Some sort of reedy/brackeny stuff...? If it had been a gorse bush I'd have left the sod on the common :p.

Lawks sorry to hear that but agree ‘‘twas fortunate you fell in the right kind of bush! Speedy recovery to you both (meaning Elle).
