I'm hoping someone here might know the answer to this, please! 🤞

Does anybody know if the Aussie Allrounder is similar material to Australian flag rugs? I see they are both polyester, the Aussie is 600D and the flag rugs say 210gsm.

I've also found that Ruggles do a cotton summer sheet which is a polycotton mix 250gsm, I'm wondering if this is similar to a flag rug as well or maybe just lighter than the Aussie.

Unfortunately, can't find anywhere that will deliver flag rugs to the UK!

hi i am not sure about the australian flag rug but i have an aussie allrounder - it's brilliant. my boy has a really expensive rambo fly rug but he much prefers the aussie rug. the horse flies can't bite through it. he also has premier equine protech bug and fly boots - i have been really impressed by them- his legs come in cool even when it's warm and a shires fly guard with ears and nose. up until the last week he was out all day. this week he has been going out early and coming in about 11

Material is different. Flag rugs are very delicate and rip easily, even caught up on branches/hedges. Aussie Allrounder is a more robust fabric. Try to get as high a cotton content as possible if you are using as sun/bug protection. I am sure there are some Australian companies who deliver to the UK, you may need to email and ask.

Thank you! I wonder if the Ruggles one might be similar to a flag rug then 🤔 I have the Aussie Allrounder at the moment but I just worry it will still make my horse warmer.

If you are looking at the Ruggles cotton summer sheet (not the dark ones), it will again be a heavier fabric than the flags. The flag rugs are the lightest I have found and excellent for hot weather (make sure they are white!) but as above, not hardy. Honestly I usually end up using Weatherbeeta or Zilco mesh rugs in really hot weather, or nothing at all in fire danger weather.

Looks like Gala Equine ship internationally, they have decent enough flag rugs :)

Yes, not their pre-shrunk ones, the white one which says it's a polycotton mix which I wondered if it would be lighter than the Aussie Allrounder but not as light as a flag rug.
Thank you so much for this!
