The AYOF finished yesterday and I was extremely lucky to have my two competition horses drawn by the GBR dressage team. I was praying for at least one of my horses to be drawn by them, but to have two was just amazing!
My pony Rathowen Rustic was ridden by Emily Cousins and my horse AEA Julius was ridden by Charlie Hutton. Jessica Dunn rode Shining Messiah. They all did a fantastic job with these horses and the team was very strong. They were so strong that they won team gold and Charlie won the individual silver and Jessica won the individual bronze.
My friend Kate and I were grooming for both horses, and the team made the week (which was extremely hot and tiring) one of the best weeks of my life. Even though I wasn't riding I learnt so much from those 3 riders and the team coach Gareth Hughes and the team official Caroline Griffith.
It was really nice to get into the team spirit. We cheered the british dressage and jumping riders, and Kate and I even made Team Great Britain shirts with a handy permanent marker!
It certainly is an experience I will never forget and I thank the team for making it so much fun and for treating my horses with such respect and kindness.
Here are some links to read more about the competition and how team GBR went in the dressage and jumping.
