I'm moving my horse to a new yard next month and was wondering if anyone knows how to introduce auto drinkers to a horse as I haven't had experience with them before.
Thanks

Never had a problem - just put the horse in the stable - but MIT drinkers fill without the horse having to push anything to get the water to flow.

Do you have to use the auto drinkers ? I much prefer to know how much water my horses have or havent had , often drinking loads or none is the first sign of a problem , I'd have a think before using them.

There has been auto waterers in various stables I've had but I have always put buckets in. IMO a horse cannot get enough water from an auto (imagine trying to take sips out of a teacup when you are thirsty?) and I worry also that I cannot monitor their water intake.

Shut it down for the 1st week at least - your horse will have enough to contend with in a new place without you worrying about if she is drinking at all.

Have had them on yards I've managed & am not a fan, mostly down to managing horses intake of water over xyz time - totally impossible.

Given the choice, I'd prefer not to have them, they do make for lazy work.
Most people will at least slosh out a trug or bucket - how many actually clean out the auto bowl?
