Hi. I need to get my cats used to an automatic cat feeder, so I have started feeding them normally using it which is going OK as they are eating some of the food but not all of it and I have also given them a few dreamies in it and they have been eaten OK but I don't think they are really that keen on it but this is probably because they are not used to it. They also haven't grasped that food will just appear.

Any hints, tricks and tips from you knowledgeable lot to get them completely comfortable with it and to work out that food will automatically appear as certain times of the day?

Repetition and routine. If you feed your cats at a certain time of the day then carry on doing that but distance yourself from the feeder as it opens so they associate you being there with the food at that regular time but with you standing further back they will start to get that the feeding time and the cat feeder are the key, not the feeder (i.e you)
