Been a fun last two days off, I'm back at work after my surgery now, easing into it slowly to make sure I don't stress the surgery site too much. I'm also back at the gym and tentatively training towards getting back on court :)

The weather has been lovely up here the past two days so I made the most of it yesterday and went for a hack. It was just what I needed even though Kia wasn't feeling himself for the first half hour of the hack, he did seem to wake up to himself after we got going. :) The pics speak for themselves I think.

Today I wanted to tidy up his clip and take the neck and flanks off to allow him more breathing space as he was sweating up a fair bit even though our hacks are mostly in walk and trot. I was basically giving him a blanket with the belly on. Well it wasn't to be, as I was doing the leg lines he decided that lifting and stretching out a leg would be appropriate and it shot the clippers right up his flanks, i just stood there looking at it then thought ****** it and started stripping the lot off. I'll just have to up the rug weights earlier than I wanted to.

There is an annoyance factor today as well as I wanted to go for another little saunter as now I cannot ride unless it is my day off. He is still in the field with the only the mare that cannot eat hay so I have to bring her in and give her a feed every time I want to do something with Him. So sorting his clip took me over an hour, I then rinsed him off and left him to dry whilst I went home for a quick shower and change then I came back and realised I couldn't ride as I couldn't give her another big bucket of feed for the hour I was going to be out, I couldn't leave her either as she had been in since ten and this was now just after one so I had to just rug him up and turn him out.

I know it may seem selfish but I get set days off on my rota and with no school or lit area to ride it means I have to ride out a hack in the dark if I don't get to ride on my days off, so having to dictate my riding around other people's horses is really getting to me. I have spoken to the mares owner and she is wanting her put to sleep but she co owns her with her sister and her sister doesn't want to put her down. I feel for her but I'm getting to the end of my tether with it all :(

Anyways the best bit :) pics :D

Fantastic photos! I particularly like the photo with the beam of light. Thanks for sharing them. :)

EDITED: Most of them have light beams in lol. I mean the one where the road slopes down. Saying that, they're all lovely photos.

lol the clip was a trial from a picture i had seen on the net the concept was sound but With the cushings warping his coat he wasn't managing his sweat and heat well and from our not very energetic hacks he was still coming home with foam on him despite no cantering.

I have plenty of different weight rugs so I will hopefully be able to manage the lack of hair as he doesn't keep the weight on well.

Thank you he is my world and if I could have him in a 15.2hh 4 yr old version I would be the luckiest girl in the world :)

Gorgeous photos, I love autumn for all the colours! I'm sorry though but I do have to say it, I hope he's not normally tied to a gate with a granny knot instead of a quick release?

Really stunning. I know there's some lovely places in the UK but those pics make me so miss the hacking in France. Going for hours through the Midi-Pyrénées was perfection!

He actually walked and the rope fell loose just as I took the last pic as he was getting impatient :) he is never tied tight to anything except twine :)

Stunning photos. There is a Facebook page called 'As Seen Through Horses' Ears' and they would love some of these! It is a lovely group, with contributions from all over the world!

What a lovely horse and the photos are stunning especially the amazing colours of the leaves on the trees.

Thank you :)

I might put another up I did share one :)

You'd never know, he's looking great :)

Thank you I'm doing my best for him :)

I love his happy hacking ears :D <3

P.s He looks amazing for 25!

Thank you very much, he is hard to keep weight on and fussy as well as cereal intolerant so the opinions he looks well mean a lot :)

I figured that was the case, he is a lovely lad bless him :)

Thank you I appreciate that :)
