I spent a lovely few hours hacking out with my little sister today, having some good gallops on the ponies and admiring the beautiful countryside around us, and whilst we were out, I couldn't help noticing how autumnal it's looking now. LS loves taking pictures whilst we ride, and I found this one on my camera roll...

I couldn't get over the colours! I think it's safe to say that autumn has well and truly arrived. Now it's just a matter of counting down the days until mucking out, cold fingers, and even colder toes!

Although the augurs of winter are in the air, Autumn is my favourite season for the sheer beauty of the colours and the crisp air. Lovely picture :)

Lovely photos :) Autumn really is the best time to ride.

We have already had sub-zero temperatures and some snow, but the trees are still changing, the maples are hanging in there, the oaks have just about given up and the next gust will have them naked, and the birch trees! Well, lightweights, what can I say, they are like nudists on the first sunny day, everything off at once.

The sun may be shining but we are still in layers and gloves. We are lucky enough not to have to do roadwork, the hi-viz is so that we don't get shot by hunters :D
