The grass is super juicy, it's the joyful autumn flush and the horses are sensing a change in the seasons.

Just brought my 16hh orange 'kite' with two white socks in from the field.

Oh happy days!

Anyone else with horses on springs and putting karate kid to shame!!!

My two have been acting like their track is Aintree and have been galloping laps around it, luckily the ground isn't too bad yet and they've just had their hooves trimmed so not too aneurysm causing to witness currently. That might change when the ground turns into a quagmire.

I need more kite!

Mine are really flat. Not sure if its coat change, but really lacking in any oomph.

I'm strip grazing into standing hay so was wondering if we're all fibre and no protein.

Mine has been on the flatter side but did manage a big spook the other day. His concern was legitimate though. Another livery said hers has been a bit flat too. With coat change, the heat/humidity here, and the dead, dry, crusty grass, it's not a surprise. We did get a few cooler days and he definitely had more boost then.

I know that I'll wish for him to be more flat come winter 🤣

Yes, my 6 yo who was beautifully relaxed all summer currently has the attention span of a goldfish on speed and has decided everything is scary. If I hadn’t owned him since he was very young and had bought him a month ago I would think he had been drugged at the trial and that the seller had lied to me!! I’m hoping he finds his sanity again soon!

One of my two oldies has had a gallop or two this week, but the other had an abscess so he's been quite sedate. Although I did see a bit of prancing from him when a deer ran through their field!
They won't be gadding about today as it's ever so hot here, I'm expecting very slow plodding when they come down for their tea later.
