Not going to join in on this thread again but needed to ask 1 question.
"Depends if your walking or on a quad!" I am assuming that this is a response to Tom's comment "But I reckon ours are steeper "
I'm no expert but I think it would still be as steep no matter how you got up it, easier possibly by quad.
 
Its not steep up there then !! Ha ha !!!

For most of our fields the names arev still in use as i have seen from a tithe map in the early 18th C.

One just around the cleeve from the house is called Cliffs.

For good reason.

I have ploughed it once about 30 years ago with a County but a quad would be something else.

I have just bought a ranger and that is something else !!!
 
Tis a wonderful part of the country to hunt on with you Countess!! Also when I hunted up there it was all owned by i chap the Duke!! Yes he has Tennants but as you rightly said they all came out with us be it on horse or quad a held meets at their farms too!!
