avert...canter looks a bit odd ?

He does have a very strange action in canter, also noticed in both trot and canter he looks tense through his back. Saying that, he tracks up nicely in trot and appears sound! Dont quite know what to make of the canter!!

well I just wanted to check none of you lot thought he was crippled lame, emailed the lady to arrange a viewing! Will get full vet check if I like him just to double check there is no medical cause :)
thanks!

It just looks incredibly downhill to me but active behind so its throwing the rider fowards and theres nothing in front of her :p! Bet sitting to that canter is like riding a rocking horse on a downhill slope..... ;)

Its as though his back end doesn't belong to the front end and he needs a good ole buck to sort it out :) ... Doesn't seem to hinder his rhythm or jump tho...

watching the video - at time 2.55 as he come out of canter into walk, just before they cut the shot he looks very uncomfortable on his back legs.

i thought it looked lame on the nearside hind in trot but wasnt sure i it was my eyes looking for something!

I thought that too but then wondered if it was because the rider bounced so high in rising trot that when she landed on his back it was giving the illusion of him being lame???

no offence, but wouldnt look myself. Too much chance of there being a good reason for the odd gait, and even if its 'normal' for this horse it looks awful to ride. (Bad confo can cause issues in the long run of course) :) It may not look obviously lame but wouldnt touch. sorry.

Lovely horse, but something definitely wrong with back end/back/back legs or all 3.......

He's not using his back end properly at all, not working through and almost looks like he cannot bend his hocks (hence why his bum comes so high in the canter).......could be conformational, could be a very nice genuine horse in a lot of pain....

something not right, very cheap for a horse of that age who can jump like that. i started having concerns about 20seconds in when it trotted on the left rein. be interested to have a report back after you have viewed though :)

I actually think he is using his back end too much but in the wrong way. I don't think he's down hill. He is springing his back end up at every stride. I really like his trot, but agree, his canter looks very odd. No tail swishing though which is indicative of pain.

he could be so blocked that he can't swing his tail though

certainly wouldn't risk it

Seen this before and thought it moved a bit weird in canter...
imo i dont like it, but it could just be the way it moves or whatever, i wouldnt go for it personally but if you get it vetted there hardly gonna miss out something like that

The price would surely make you think, why?

He just looks awfully uncomfortable, if he doesn't have problems already, moving like that is more than likely going to cause them in the future.

There were a fair few times in that vid where the horse is definitely not right behind, ignoring the 'unusual' movement, verrrrrry dodgy.

I wouldn't touch this with a barge pole tbh.

Sorry :(

Definitely something odd about it, though if its not far away it might be worth a look if you go in with your eyes wide open and get a full vetting.

Looks extremely uncomfortable though - and I don't really like its jump for the same reason - almost lazy over in front but then throws the back end really high. If you freezeframe it landing over the last jump, it is almost vertical - must be incredibly difficult to sit to.

However if its problems are sorted out it could be a really nice horse.

I also thought he looked odd on the near hind in trot, harder to tell I thought in canter, he did look like he was hopping rather. I would certainly get a vet to look at him if I was buying.
Kx

Ditto that ^^^^^

how could you miss that back end in trot!! Looks like it's riding a bicycle!!!!

If you do go, check its walk looking from behind as that might give you a clue as to whether he has stifle problems as well as pelvis.

To me, it looks like he's curling his lumbar region down which gives it that 'expressive' back end.

Looks in pain to me, his ears are back the whole video and even to my untrained eye he looks tight in the back and very uncomfortable. Wouldn't touch him the poor thing needs seriously looking at and anyone riding a horse that obviously unhappy can't be trusted as a seller.
