I am considering giving my lad a bath today unfortunaly I may only be able to use the hose pipe and he is unclipped.
Due to this what is the best way to ensure he doesn't catch a chill? I am awear how to deal with avoiding them, but just need advice which would be best.

Thanks

do a bit at a time and cover him up as you go, ideally, you want a bucket of warm water to rinse in, and make sure you scrape off all excess water, i've done mine like this in the middle of winter for shows and they have been fine!

Yeah I will try and use as much warm water as I can with him, just my kettle is tiiiiny and have to use the one from home, as can't use it on the yard.
Thanks lilym.

When we wash at this time of the year we use a 20litre water container filled with hot hap water from home, usually with the immersion heater on the water is close to boiling point. The container is big and will only fit in the bath to be filled but we do live in a bungalow so it make it easier. With this filled with very hot water it retains heat for quite a while. At the yard we do a bit at a time, using a synthetic type of chamios clothe which absorbs water well. We use old towels to really dry off, then put a cooler sheet on.

Good luck

do you have water containers that you take to the show? i use them to get hot water out on to the yard, just fill them up in the kitchen sink and add a little cold to each bucket full when i get out side.
or couldnt you just give him a mane and tail wash and a good rub down with a rung out face cloth or tea towel? pop some dettol in it to freshen him up abit?
