Is it safe to use on dogs?

I'd like to bath the 'Raptors and thought it be a good plan to use something that would help to keep the mozzies away :D

I'm sure I've used the shampoo on horses, but it was a looooooong time ago and I might just have dreamt it...

I think it's safe if diluted, neem oil products would work as well. I have fed garlic in small amounts/via an appropriate medium and coconut oil in the diet can also act as a preventative. TBH I used to live in an area which was nicknamed after the amount of midges there were, but the dogs didn't appear to be bothered, must have been the thick coats!

A small amount of garlic is fine.

My horse fly spray has Avon Skin So Soft as a base, with neem, eucalyptus, citronella and whatever other oils I fancy at the time. Always do a patch test!

CC the GSD isn't at all fazed as nothing gets through her coat, but the Grots are a bit thinner on the coat front and a whole lot shorter. Will keep a closer eye and see if they show any angst.

M that's interesting, I didn't realise they did one. Will try it ta :)

C good point about the patch test! Don't want to cause them any issues. Where do you get all your additions from and how do you know how much to add?

Ebay. I follow a flyspray recipe I found on here years ago. I add a teaspoon of all the essential oils, well diluted by topping up to a litre with cold water. Given what sensitive skin the horse has, this has done him well.
