Have a few questions about this....

Are people still using Avon Skin So Soft as an insect repellent?
I remember reading a year or two ago people said it changed and became less effective, is that true?
How do you use it?

Just wondering if it would be of any use ordering some for my itchy hoss

If there are any skin so soft users reading this you might be pleased to know that the 'Original Dry Oil Spray' bonus size (I am guessing thats what people use) is on offer on Avon, from £7.00 down to £2.99 now, and the normal size from £5.00 to £1.99 :o

The horse I share has mild sweet itch and we use Avon Skin So Soft - not sure whether it works as an insect repellant but it definitely soothes his skin

I bought some but found that if you keep it in a cool area it freezes into a solid block, I've also been told that they have changed the recipe so it's not as effective anymore.

I wouldn't get it again.

Works for me.. just bought six bottles. Yes it does go hard in the cold but I just tuck it in my inside pocket before I need it and it softens fairly quickly from body heat.

I haven't needed my fly masks for two years since I've bought it.

Smells great and there and kind to the skin.. especially for me as I'm allergic to everything. I don't know about the new formulation but I haven't noticed that it's less effective. It's certainly better than proper horse fly sprays which don't work at all and are ten times more expensive.

Current formula works but it does go solid which is a pain if you want to spray. I go 50:50 with water and apply liberally with a sponge. Dead cheap so no problem slopping it on! Much more effective than £10 bottles of useless fly repellent.

Its great protection against the midges in the evening. However as it is dry oil do be careful about over applying in the sun as can cause sun burn if too much applied and very sunny!

This stuff is amazing! My pony has mild sweetitch and he would rub his mane and tail bald in the summer, I tried stuff from the vets and lotions from the tack shop, but nothing touched it. Since I started using skin so soft about 6 years ago he's stopped the itching and you wouldn't know he ever suffered!

You do have to put it on religiously and it does freeze on chilly days but my pony is very happy that I came across this as he is so much more comfortable because of it.
