Dad, being the irrisponsable ignoramus he is, left weds curry leftovers where Danny could reach. Which he promptly did.

And up they came last night.:(

Come the morning, he's still being sick and got the runs so off we go to the vets. Got some strong anti-biotics and orders to monitor him but because he's drinking well and still bright enough to want to chase the local cats/squirrel (and the fly that's in the room right now) it's probably just going to be a waiting game until it's out of his system.

Needless to say, he's playing on it and looking very sorry for himself. He's also very tired because he was up half the night.

Poor baby, but he'd probably go and do it again. Dad, however, won't. Lessen learnt there then :D

Don't feel too sorry for him, he'll only milk it :p my Nan gave my old bitch curry. Yet I was the one who had to clear up the explosions while she stood and watched me, laughing???
He'll be fine, just a bit spicy for doggie systems!!

Oh yeah, he's milking it alright. Not my doing, dad's feeling very very guilty (he even paid the vet bill -heartattack-!). I'm the meany, dragging him out for an afternoon walk even when he was doing the "I'm dying" act :D

And it's always someone else that commits the crime and never has to clean up bright yellow vomit and poop -eyetwitch-

Awww poor lad! I vividly remember giving one of the greyhounds some milk once (she was thin and I wanted to body her up a bit) - WRONG move, it had similar results without being bright yellow :o One lives and learns with these things :D

I feel like I've been messed about here. One looooooooong sleep this afternoon and he is as right as rain (apart from really stinky breath). A total world away from "I'm dyiiiiiing."

First, he polishes off Tessie's JWB, then he scoffs the chicken I boiled for him and then he goes and pinches Tessie's bonio. Can a dog really recover that quickly? Apparently so :D

Still, it wasn't me that had to fork out for the vets bill and it's taught my dad not to put things within an oppotunistic hound's reach. Pity the poor lad had to go through that just to teach daddy-o a lession.

That bloody vet. "Boil him some chicken" he says. "A small amount" he says. So I boil Danny a chicken breast, and when he wakes up feeling all better he scoffs it as if he's never been in. And then, 6 hours later, up it comes in a half-digested form.

Yet another sleepless night for the dog and myself. :(

Ugh. That's it, I don't like it but I'm gonna put him on a starvation day. I'm sure it'll be better for him in the long run as it works with Tessie. He's still drinking and I'll probably mix some honey into warm water just to keep his sugar levels in check.

I think that's the last time I just see 'any vet' at the practice, I'l stick to our usual one in future.

Dogs frequently go for days without food in the wild, it won't kill him :p although that isn't what he'll tell you.....loudly.
I wouldn't be too harsh on the vet either, he does sound like a sensitive soul, bless him!

He's currently catching up on the sleep he missed last night. He's obviously still feeling nausious because every now and then there's a mad dash out to the garden and wretching even though he brings nothing up. There's no tenderness or soreness around his tummy when I feel it though, I think he's just exhausted (I don't blame him, I would be too if I was in that state). He still charges back up the stairs to the bed though, despite his "I'm too weak to move" act in the garden. Looks like the dog show on monday might be out the window though lol XD
