Hi All, I am awaiting a vet bill and was wondering if anyone could help me to add up what I am looking at before it arrives on my doormat!

This is what I've had..... (eeeek!) Some of these call outs may be shared visits but I want worse call scenario.

- Emergency call out
- Call out/ Booked Visit
- Bute injection
- Course of bute for 8 days
- Call out/ Booked Visit
- Antibiotic injection
- Course of Antibiotics for 4 days
- Call out/ Booked Visit
- Compagel
- Emergency call out
- Injection
- Probiotics
- Call out/ Booked Visit

Thanks in advance for your help!

quicker and more reliable to call your vet first to see what they estimate your bill to be. then if possible ask them to pay in installments if it is really high.
i know my vet is 14 days only but they can be fair if given enough notice, better to be safe than sorry - good luck :)

Ahhh thank you alfiesmum! I didn't know they would let me pay in instalments! Hoping it won't be too high but think your right I will call direct then and ask for an estimate. Thanks for this:)

I think they are normally £30 but the OOH about £80 - I think! Some of these will be shared visits but want worse case scenario!

Also, how much to you reckon a ultra sound is??? Sounds expensive!

Ring your vets, i did and was rather shocked......so bloody cheap. Emergency call outs differ to the time of day and which day it is on the weekend

emergency call out
hour and a half work
sedative
bute injection
20 bute
7 antibiotic sachets
animalintex
2 vet wrap

£115.... my emergency call out is £13.45 :D:D

My old vet was scandalous and charged me £230 for call out, bute and antibiotics

My horse fractured her nasal bone and had a huge gash down her nose on boxing day, after 4 or 5 call outs and a lot of stitches, antibiotics, x-rays etc... £638

Ours is about £70 for an ultrasouns scan without sedation.
I reckn about £450- but also need some info on what the reason for the vivits was. there may be examination fees or time fees on top - which at out vets is about £35 - which might add as much as £210 to your bill! (At ours the examination charge would not be added to all call outs - probably the first few then waived on the others ).
