Award for the longest back goes to...

I thought it was maybe the fenceline in the first picture making it look abit of an optical illusion, but it looks just as long in the second one. His tiny neck makes me sad too :( Am definitely a lover of big beefy (muscular) necks xD

That pony is 5!? Our rising 3yr old looks more mature than that! Bless, he isnt the prettiest is he? Hope he goes to a nice home though.

I think this one beats that, we were given her, shes a bit of a cut & shut horse lol!

(should ad shes looking poor in the pic as we hadnt had her long, she came to us in appalling condition)

He's not long at all, it's the way he is standing. He'll be lovely once he's built a little muscle in the right places :)

That is a hammock posing as a horse! Poor girlie - is she alright in her back ridden?

Love the spotty job, he will be OK given time and TLC.

We have a few Selle Français at the RS which are very long in the back, it almost looks like they could wear two saddles!

They also have very long pasterns, which is typical for the breed. Generally it makes them very comfortable to ride, but it is not a conformation which stands up to hard work for years.

Bless her, she was a funny shape, no she was only ever sat on the once & she went vertical, though apparently she had done a lot of riding prior to coming to us. I eventually rehomed her to a friend of mine & she was PTS last year.

Poor sod, hideous... But it's not my type of horse, so I wouldn't have the most positive opinion of it ever. Hopefully it will find someone to love it and sort it out. Doesn't look 5 to me...

I think my little mare would be in the running. Truly phenomenally long back. My vet reckoned that she has the back of a 16hh horse on 13.2hh legs. Didn't stop her eventing to 95cm, show jumping to 1m, and being one of the best games ponies in the district. She wasn't schooled at all until her mid 20s either. My pony club instructor described her as a "family pony, as in you could fit the whole family along her back" :D

When she was in work and looked slightly better proportioned

She's definitely in her late 20s/early 30s now.

Before a link to my recent video on YouTube gets posted on this thread, I would just like to point out that it was shot in 4:3 and is displayed in 16:9 and I don't know how to change it!!!

For the record, I do NOT breed sausage ponies!

Looks like a pony that's been bred for colour not conformation; I had to smirk at the "no pink skin" comment too. :D

I quite like him. Conformation is rubbish but I reckon with a bit of work he'd muscle up and not look as bad.

I went to veiw him. Hes a lovely horse, skinny but well fed. 24/7 turnout with others. A lovely horse. The dealer is lovey and recently got him from a grassless field. Honestly told me he needs weight and muscle.
He has sold, i believe to a lovely woman.
