Hi I don't post very often but thought I would be brave. My lad has a rub on the bulb of his heel looks very similar to a blister about the size of a 20p. looks like its starting to dry up then by the time I come down in the evening the top has come of and its raw again. It is clean and he is not lame on it but in his box due to all the mud and can't ride as work full time so only option is sand school. Think his over reach boots are to blame. Currently cleaning it well with hypocare and using aluspray on it. Any ideas would be great x

Sounds likely but be careful bacteria doesn't get in and trigger mud fever - if it's not this already. I think keeping boots off and the wound clean and dry is all you can do. Keep an eye on it and if it deteriorates, re evaluate and call the vet.

My boy also has a cut in a similar place which is healing nicely, but vet said to keep it covered at all times (we are almost 4 weeks in and he's allowed to be ridden in walk)

Was using hypocare and Aluspray (as per picture 2nd day) but vet advised to put intrasite gel on it, cover it with a non-stick dressing and wrap with sticking plaster (not vetwrap) over wound, down hoof and up to fetlock. This has enabled him to be turned out and kept wound clean & dry. He also had a 5 day course of ABs.

Thank you he is on antibiotics. I'm sure once it dries out it will be fine was told not to cover as just keeps it moist. A bit of trial and error I think x

i don't understand - in NL you have said a vet has looked at the wound, but you don't mention anti biotics. Which you do here. Like i say, sometimes it's so hard to help people when they don't give proper info.
