My staffie rescue bitch was spayed today. Everything went fine. She is a bit sore and sorry for herself atm but is spending most of the time quietly resting in her crate with regular potters around the garden for a pee.

She walked (stiffly) out of the surgey to my car

You might want to wait if she is about to come into season?
I know our vet suggested waiting several months after ours had her 1st season to allow hormone levels to return to normal. I'm not sure what risks/side effects there are if they are spayed when hormone levels are off due to coming into season?

OP - ours never even noticed she had stitches, she was groggy the rest of the day when she came back, then back to normal the next day

Took pea to vets this morning, and phoned them earlier and she is fine, they clipped her nails for me why she was under the anaesthetic, can pick her up later,I cant wait

Well my stupid dog just got her head stuck in the cat flap, I could hear crying outside and went searching, eventually found a bottom sticking out of the cat flap. Have had to partly dismantle said cat flap. Luckily all stitches still in tact.

Opps lol, mines broken the cat flap before and i haven't got round to getting another yet,I'm going to have to leave the back door open because i believe she is going to have one of them things round her neck cant remember the name of it,has she normally uses the cat flap and she will get stuck lol.

We didn't bother with a buster collar, she has been good and left her stitches alone.

She will need to pee alot today and tomorrow as she'll be a bit bruised inside.
