To be honest me and my mom havent always got on, the last few weeks we have really tried with each other and learnt to respect each other more.

I have been thinking of nominating her for the Horse Inspiration Awards as she has really helped me with Indiana.

In fact i know if it had not of been for my moms help while Indi was so ill i know i wouldnt of been able to treat him properly because of getting time off work (i would of had to take 4 hours off each day) and he would of never recovered.

I think you should def nominate your mum, she does that and then cared for your horse! Sounds like a great mum

I will explain the story for you.

I had only owned Indi for 5 days when he had begun to get very poorly.

At first he began to drag his back legs, wouldnt eat or drink, was coughin and was generally very very quiet and subdued.

Vets were called and after a few days Indiana was diagnosed with Bastard Strangles (where the abcesses are all internal and can spread to all the internal organs through out the bodY)

A emergency traceoctomy was performed as Indi was dying.

Indi was put in isolation inside a oxygen tent, this is where he stayed for 6 months 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Obviously while he was in isolation he had to be seen to 4 times aday.

My mom stepped up to the plate and really helped to care for Indi during this time.

Even though because of infection she had to come see to indi go home have a shower and get changed before seeing to her own horses on another yard.

She did this every day for 6 months until we got the all clear.
