Hello,

I am asking your advices regarding the Axiom rugs.
I've seen on the forum that all lot of people are saying that it is generous in size.

But generous enough to go down on size ?

My horse is 14.3 in height, and uses to wear rugs in 6.0 for Weatherbeeta, Gallop, and Horseware. (I've tried on him, once, a Horseware stable rug in 5.9 but was too tight)
Which size would you advise me ?
Do you have an Axiom rug for a horse in a similar size ?

I've bought several Axiom rugs for my horses over the years & yes they are generous in the size because everyone else seems to skimp on the material. They are nice & deep in the belly & they are the right size. If your horse takes a 6'0" in a Weathabeeta then he will take the same size in Axiom. I've got several weights & have been very happy with them. I think you'll find them well fitting, room for movement & good value for money & they come in every weight imaginable. I realised years ago that there is no reason to spend £100 on a rug when Axiom will provide what you want at a fraction of the cost.

(I have no connection with the company, just a contented customer)

ha! Thanks for your reply Toby_Zaphod !

So i will be looking for his usual size then.
I am interested by the 300g combo rugs to keep him warm after he will be clipped.

I've got Axiom rugs too. Completely agree with Toby - and I don't work for the company either. I love the fact they are deep in the belly and cover the bottom properly. I have a chunky cob who takes 5'9 in weatherbeeta and horsewear Ireland. He takes a 5'9 in axiom too and they fit him brilliantly. I also have a lighter weight ISH who takes a 6' in Horsewear and will squeeze into a 5'9 weatherbeeta - although his bum sticks out a bit. The 5'9 Axioms cover him really nicely - but not quite as well as they cover the slightly smaller but much chunkier cob.

Faracat - what they are lined with depends on what you buy. Most of mine are fully satin lined (I like combi rugs for fully clipped horses). But some of the lighter weight ones are only satin on the shoulders. I don't have an axiom fly rug - but I presume they are not lined at all!

It's depth as already mentioned that Axiom is generous with, plus the tail flaps are large. If you can get Axioms, do it, I couldn't find any last time I looked. Mine takes a 6'3 rug, all his Axioms are the perfect fit.

Just checked on eBay and there are loads! They must have had a break.

I bought a couple, the 1600D ones. Fit wise I thought they were generous. But I've found they are not "rip-stop". One was completely trashed in less than a week, and the other has several large 3 corner rips. I won't buy another. Weatherbeeta all the way for ours in future.
