Was hacking out yesterday, went to turn into my yard using hand signal, "as you do" and the one car that was behind me went to over take me as i was 1/2 way across the road. Well I shouted at her to stop and she stops the car in the middle of the road and says "oh sorry" I did'nt see you there!!! what heck was she on....some people.

I don't normally bother with the hand signals etc., just wait till everyone is out of the way!

Can beat that.......6 x horses all 15.3-16.3hh hunter types, 3 x riders (riding and leading), hit by a volvo coming towards us that 'didn't see us' FFS we had Hi-Vis on too, what could the bloody woman see???

They were all fine (the 3 x ridden horses were all hit). Horses had a few bruises and grazes, but nothing too serious (luckily). Car lost its roof rack, wing mirror, bumper and metal strip from down the side.

EDT the roof rack was knocked off by my knee, which was a bit bruised!!!

My suspicions that you might have brandy and coke induced psycho tendencies, have just been confirmed

Ignorant drivers are one of my pet hates. I often have my 4 yr old grandaughter on lead rein down the lanes near the yard. She is riding a very light (white) grey pony and wearing hi viz gear, the number of drivers that zoom past without a care astound me. Can't they see a small child on a pony? I'm no skinny mini either, they must be able to see my huge backside too!

There is one particular woman who does it on a regular basis, one of these days I am going to see her car parked at Asda, I will leave her a right note on her windscreen when I do. What really gets my goat is her registration - NAG.

Hope you are ok, and that you gave the woman a right telling off.

Why you talking about the B&C(Who likes to drink her brandy with a straw, well it don't mess up your lippy, and gets to the mark quicker!)queen,me moi! I'm a very nice, sweet(sickly sweet)person as if I should do something like that!

reporting in now!

I always go out in high vis. I was driving one day and honestly didn't see a girl on her horse untill I was almost on them. She was on a dark bay and in dark clothes on a sunny day, nothing wrong with my eyesight and luckily because I knew it was a 'horsey' road I was going slow. I wound my window down and said to her that she was very hard to see and that I wasn't a looney and had my own horse etc and all I got was abuse!!!! Horses can actually be hard to see (as can cyclists) as the BHS rightly point out in their adds. I wear high vis even if I'm not going on the road, saves giving an OAP a heart attack in the woods!!
But, I know what you mean. Even in high vis folk go flying past, people are so ignorant. Plus, when you are in the middle of the road to turn right....well....perhaps they do need their eyes testing!!!

I'm the only person round my way who wears hi-viz. Friend used to laugh and say I looked like a belisha (sp?) beacon!

Don't care if I look stupid. DO CARE if I get hit by a car.

Most people round our way are fairly good, the odd one isn't.

You don't say what you were wearing and agree with suzysparkle on this.

Sorry but if you don't wear hi vis folks then have very little sympathy. In certain conditions it's very hard to see even something as big as a horse.

Bright sunlight and deep/dappled shade is such an example and I'd challenge even the best of drivers to see you under those circumstances.
