IT IS NOT FAIR *throws hissy fit screaming*
Dan is back in the broken pony club and BIG BIG styley.
Got text from YO when I was on phone just after work to call her. Call her and she said that Dan had jumped out of field and she was almost certain he done either check or suspensory liagment and that she was bandaging him up etc.
Phone vet on route home (on bluetooth i may add ) who as there was relatively little they could do this evening advised bute, cold hosing & bandaging and someone would come to see him the following day. So vet is coming up tomorrow.
went straight to yard *whistles innocently about driving slightly to fast* to find a VERY lame and sorry looking Daniel. He is what I would call 9 tenths lame. He is only weight baring minimally when moving round stable so not quite full ten tenths lame! but he is literally hopping in the true sense of the word.
Have bedded him right down with straw everywhere other than where hayledge goes just to give him such extra padding. Given him bute in a very minimal feed but the swine was turning his nose up at it.
Although he is the biggest wimp in the world I would be amazed if he hasn't ripped/pulled a ligament/tendon as this is the lamest I have ever seen him.
not 100% sure what he did but we pretty certain. We think he attempted to jump out of his field at a point where it is particulary muddy/boggy (at least foot deep) didn't make the height and took top part of fencing (thick electric tape) with him and crashed/pecked or similar on landing which is when the damage was caused.
but tell me why doesn't my horse want to be sound. He has been sound for months following treatment for arthritis (bone spavins/navicular) and I was just thinking of taking him to play at some prelim dressage but thats out the window now and he prospectively has months on box rest
but yes MAJORLY unfair and I feel like throwing another hissy fit now
