So the world is going to end on Friday and I've just had to order a bag of horse and pony nuts (2 week's supply) and a big bale of straw (a month's supply). Damn!

This afternoon I overheard a little girl at the stables asking her mother to write a note for school so she could spend Friday with her pony so he wouldn't be frightened when the world ended.

Im just gutted Im at work on Friday! Do we know what time its due to happen so i can ring OH?

Its amazing how we all talk about this- Im pretty certain we will still be on here on Saturday. Will be annoyed otherwise what a waste of a day Christmas shopping!
 
On pay day. How ironic!!! Hopefully it'll be the end of the world at midnight...as I've not gone for drinks for ages now, and finally have xmas drinkies out planned!!!! ;)
 
Mine will just have to cope on their own, I will be at work.....next very big work deadline is 21st. If we don't hit it our world may well end!;)
 
Better not do, I've just stocked up on feed, haylage and straw for winter! And I want my beautiful Ariat Bromonts for Christmas first thank you very much
 
Hang on - I thought it was going to end at 12 minutes past 12 on 12/12/12?????? I ate all the chocolate and cake in the house...........so does that mean I've got to do it all again?
Better not end until after the afternoon performance at Olympia or I'll be really p----d off!
 
:rolleyes: Whether it ends or not on Friday, life will go on.. can't be doing with the scaremongering.. some people really need to get a life..
I'm off Friday, so will probably stay in bed ;)
 
What a PITA! I just bought hay, straw and feed to last me into the New Year! I would've spent all that dosh on Baileys and Dairy Milk if I'd known, and gone out fat and p***ed as a fart, lol :D
 
Just to upset you all - I went to Chichen Itza in Mexico this year on holiday (the place where the Mayan Temple is and where all the initial predictions were made) - and in fact the world is going to end on the 23rd not the 21st if you listen to the local Mayans. (Actually it's not going to end - just a change to the Baktun (calendar) why everyone thinks the world is going to end amazes me) In preparation I think i will spend the 21st, 22nd and 23rd consuming nothing but chocolate and alcohol :) :) :)
 
So no point in doing my xmas shopping until the 24th, if we are still here. At least i have a justifiable reason for leaving it till the last minute this year :-D
 
Wasn't the worls supposed to end on 31st December 1999? No wait 12th December 2012 ?

Hang on whose calendar are we using again? ;)

I've heard the 21st thing too :rolleyes: okay - better max out the credit cards on the bucket list now :D
 
Sorry, but personally I plan to live till the 22nd at the least...I haven't got through school for nothing! Plus, planned a gymkhana on that day. If I have time, will write about it if it all breaks loose...

This is very unreasonable of the Mayans. You'd think with something this important they'd have got the sums sorted out.

As the man on R4 said on Saturday - if the Mayans were so good at predicting the future why did they die off?
