Does anyone know if my trailer would be legal for B licence towing? It is a single trailer and it weighs 690kg unladen. It does not have a plate with the weights on. I know you can work out the maximum capacity using the tyre loading weight but would this be acceptable for towing on a B licence? It is an older trailer and the company that make it no longer exists. Thanks

Yes it would be acceptable if the weights worked out

Find the total of all the tyre load ratings, the GVW & kerbweight of the vehicle then post in the HHO TOWING CLINIC thread - link below :D

Hi Rog,

You seem to be very honest and knowledgable in the C or C1 department!
I am currently taking my class C as I want to drive my 7.5t horsebox, but I am sorry to say I have failed the test twice now so my pride and pocket has taken a battering - would I be best to re test and do my C1 and leave my C untill i have more road experience. The mistakes I have failed on are silly to close to car pulled out to soon on a roundabout - but I feel like the 3rd time I maybe a nervous wreak so maybe doing the c1 confidently would be a better option for me? What do you think?

Rog - daft question but a golf that can tow 1500kg isn't legal to tow a lightweight trailer is it? - no licence restrictions as old !

As you have a B+E licence then as long as the trailer when loaded is not more than 1500 kgs then yes its legal - and the trailer plated MAM is not exceeded

How well and under what surface conditions it would perform I have no idea
