My 18 month coblet sometimes gets over excited to see me, particullary when am in the field with her, she rushes over to me (full speed) and stops dead right in front of me!! when am poo picking she follows me round and stands next to me - never over me or intimidating - just next to me with a lowered head, sometimes she nibbles me and i scratch her neck and she does it back to me!

It would be good to stop the rushing over though, i swear one day she will knock me over!! shes very affectionate with the others too and loves mutual grooming

Who else has payful/affectionate babys?

At least you will never have a catching problem! Sorry to say that some of them don’t grow out of it. My cob does the same and he is 6, saying that his is more about his tummy then anything else.

at least she's pleased to see you! My baby cob loves attention but doesn't get quite so excited.

However - does she have company? I know a couple of horses who behave like that towards humans and it because they live on their own and are so desperately lonely

Captain, all 17-2 hands of him, loves to gallop over and skid to a halt in front of me. I tell you it takes some nerve to stand still. I have never moved but one of the helpers at our old yard ran away, upon which he thought it was play time. Playing tag with a 17-2 is not recommended!

My OH does this purposely with my yearling Rox thinking it's funny! I have told him and told him one day he will get kicked in the face and it will be his own doing.... but will he listen .... will he heck as like

MEN!!

Rox is 24/7 in your face, he turned out 24/7 in a herdof 7 horses, which he gets on with, but still wants attention.

We have a bloke that comes down to get rid of rabbits, he hides in the bushes 'stealth mode' and my coloured yearling goes over to play and say hello - cover blown - pony in the way of any clean shot!!!

THEN.... he had put nets over the rabbit holes to catch them that way.... Rox stole the nets and legged it across the field with his stolen goods!

I was popular.... honest!!
