i don’t want to gush too much on facebook so i thought i’d share with you lovely lot instead!
I had my 2nd “proper” ride on Diva this morning, and we had our first trot! super proud mum moment, so far she’s taken it all in her stride - we’ve had minor arguments over whether or not we’re finished but i just kept her moving side to side and eventually she decided it wasn’t worth it and went forwards
we did some bending in and out of cones to practice our steering and went over a pole left out! so far she’s proving to be very responsive, very very soft in the mouth and willing to go forwards - i was worried about the break’s because that’s the part that we had to work on a lot long reining, but so far no issues at all!
i’ve been feeling really guilty for putting it off for so long, which is ridiculous because she’s perfectly happy not being ridden, but it’s certainly not done her any harm to leave her this long. she’s 5 next month though, so i would like her to be a bit more established before then
i think we’ve gotten to a point now that a little bit of inconsistency when the weather is awful or i’m working isn’t going to do her any harm - last time i got on was exactly a week ago and we’ve not done anything in the mean time, but she still made great progress today!
