Baby Pony Now Stands Calmly When Tied!

Thanks Faracat! The arm is mending properly so far, hopefully he will not need pins!

I started by tying him with a human standing by his head and fussing him, then replaced human with bucket of feed! Today he stood calmly whilst four horses were tacked up next to him and ridden out past him :) I was mucking out about ten feet away, and brought him in and rewarded with hay!

He is coming along well :)

Did that and he still thinks I'm trying to kill him and he's half rabbit as he can eat them till they are coming out of his ears.

Er...prayer? To Frith, as he is part rabbit, lol! :D If it is any consolation, it took my little chap about three months to get his head around it. (NB - He learnt how to untie himself in about three minutes...!)

Sorry I forgot the carrots, you can do most things with him as long as you have a net of carrots, we've timed it half a bucket of carrots to having his feet trimmed, he's as good as gold with the carrots, but can't tie him up for love or money. :)

Aw, bless him! Have you tried hiding the carrots in very, very watery chaff or beet? So he has to work to find them, like bobbing for apples? Then loop the rope through the tie but don't actually tie at first, build up to that? Let him get used to standing then add in the actual tying part, iyswim.

Mine is utterly terrified of stationary tractors...fine if they are moving! And has acquired a pair of cross eyed sheep as minions :D
