And I can't describe the feeling of relief! They were going to rescan his lungs to see if all traces of fluid had gone, but a few too many emergency callouts today meant that he's having to wait until tomorrow. It was doubtful that he would have been allowed home tonight anyway....

Really didn't want to bring him home tomorrow, and then go off to the Olympics for three days first thing Wednesday morning! YM was going to be looking after him, but she's young, amd has a new job that she started a week ago...and with R so vulnerable I would have been worried sick...so the delay in scan meant I was given the nudge to ask them to keep him in for the rest of the week, and I'll pick him up Friday afternoon when I get back from London.

No point bringing him home and taking the risk, he's settled at the vets...lovely big corner stable with a good view, nurses there all day to keep him company, the catheter is out but staying in means they can continue with injection antis rather than oral...far more effective!

Also, the catheter has been taken out because he keeps rubbing it and making it sore, they are a teensy bit worried about him getting a minor infection under the skin because it looks sore...so by staying in they can keep that at bay far better than I could.

Missing him like crazy, but this is def the best decision for the week!

Much much better in himself! Back to demanding attention amd throwing empty feed bowls at people! Seeing him now, I realise just HOW lethargic he was for the last couple of weeks!

I can't wait to Get him home...but being away for three days is not great timing...but seeing as OH has spent over £2k on tickets and accommodation...I don't thibk he'd be impressed if I backed out to look after Baby R....

Took these when I was there hand grazing him yesterday...

aww he is lovely :)
think i would do the same he's in the best hands at the vets but it would be natural to want to have him home and spoil him rotten he sounds like a very lucky boy you spotted something amiss so quickly
enjoy the olympics and if you decide not to go ill call in on way down for the tickets and happily take your place wouldn't want them going to waste ;)

Fingers crossed, don't normally venture into here, but read this and just wanted to post and say glad he is brighter, the bit about him chucking feed buckets made me smile, mine does that. Have a fab time at the Olympics knowing he is in the best care and receiving everything he could possibly need :)
