And I can't describe the feeling of relief! They were going to rescan his lungs to see if all traces of fluid had gone, but a few too many emergency callouts today meant that he's having to wait until tomorrow. It was doubtful that he would have been allowed home tonight anyway....
Really didn't want to bring him home tomorrow, and then go off to the Olympics for three days first thing Wednesday morning! YM was going to be looking after him, but she's young, amd has a new job that she started a week ago...and with R so vulnerable I would have been worried sick...so the delay in scan meant I was given the nudge to ask them to keep him in for the rest of the week, and I'll pick him up Friday afternoon when I get back from London.
No point bringing him home and taking the risk, he's settled at the vets...lovely big corner stable with a good view, nurses there all day to keep him company, the catheter is out but staying in means they can continue with injection antis rather than oral...far more effective!
Also, the catheter has been taken out because he keeps rubbing it and making it sore, they are a teensy bit worried about him getting a minor infection under the skin because it looks sore...so by staying in they can keep that at bay far better than I could.
Missing him like crazy, but this is def the best decision for the week!
