After being on such a high from Sat Lucys illness has bought me right back down to earth with a bump.
Yesterday she had a small amount of blood in her stable I didn't think much of it she has small bleeds from time to time, she ate loads of haylidge last night. Again this morning there was another small patch of blood but she seemed bright and alert. I spoke to my vet who said not to worry to much but to try and get a urine sample as i'm prity shore thats where the blood is coming from this time. I went back to put her out and she had had another bleed, this time abit bigger. I put her out and when i was doing her stable i noticed she hadn't eatern much breakfast. :( :( I hand grazed her for 20 mins and put her out in her patch. She is just stood there looking sad. I have put her breakfast out in the hopes she may get hungry later. I gave her 4 extra steroids in an orange as it is a steroid day and they where in her breakfast i don't know if she's had them.
I feel so guilty about doing the ride now what if it's made her worse :( :( :(
I feel like such a bad mummy and find myself sitting here crying as i type this.
Please can i have some vibes for Lucy that this is just a small hicup and she'll be fine again soon.

Don't feel bad hun, it's not your fault at all. :( Lucy is a strong-willed little girl and she wouldn't have been so fab if she wasn't feeling up to it.

Try not to worry, sending vibes your way xxxx

Oh laura :( Big hugs to you and lucy!

The last thing you should be thinking right now is that it is your fault. You said yourself the other day on your report post that lucy had her ears pricked the entire way round and really enjoyed herself! :) If anything she would have thoroughly enjoyed having an outing yesterday and she was looking brilliant from the photos! I wonder if she's just feeling a bit rough this morning because she is an old lady regardless of the illness although it will be a factor?
I know its different but when my family go for lunch and we get my very old and sick grandpa out the house to see the world he has a great time all be it slow and tiring. The next day though he spends feeling very worse for wear and very tired but not for one moment would he regret putting in the massive effort of coming out for lunch.

I know i'm waffling but I think maybe this is what lucy is doing so just give her some rest up from the day out and i really do think she will pull through! :D

Chin up sweetheart! x

Thanks everyone. I just went to have a look at her and she was eating some of her breakfast so i left her to it. Thats made me a bit happyer. She's such a greedy pig if she stops eating it does make me panic rather alot.

_MizElz_ There is nothing the vets can do. They want a urine sample to check her kidneys and said if she bleeds some more then we will up her steroids although they are not keen to do this unless they have to as she was stable on the dose she is on and the higher the dose the greater the risk of Lami :(.

Thankyou Ashleigh_ I think you are prob right and Thats what the vet said. It's hard not to feel guilty but i think i have to remember no one knows about this illness and this could have happened anyway. I was going to give her a week off anyway and the vet agreed so hopefuly as you say she will recover soon and be back to normal.

You poor thing! I know how hard it is not to feel guilty when something like this happens but it's not your fault, it's unfortunately one of those things and i'm sure your girl doesn't love you any less. I hope she feels better soon.........

Thankyou CNM and picolenicole. I just got her in and watched her wee (didn't have anything to catch it in though) and she is deff weeing blood. :( :( :( :( :( It's never gone on this long before and normaly the blood comes out after she has had a wee. I'm waiting for my vet to ring me as she is out on rounds at the mo. I just hate seeing my poor baby like this. Why does it always happen to her it's just not fair. :(:(:(:(:(:(:(

I can't add anything but our old lad even as he got very old and stiff, still loved to go for a little hack - it kept him wanting to enjoy life. Taking her out probably did a lot of good mentally and if she was feeling that poorly she would have let you know.

It may be a reaction to having a bit of fun and excitement and better for her to go and enjoy doing things rather than being kept at home.

I am sure the vet will be able to help get her stable again and sending you both a big hug.

I always read your posts and you are such a caring person who always tries to support other people even when you are having problems of your own, so I just wanted to send my support for you and Lucy and I hope she is much better soon. XX

Thankyou all for the words of support. I'm just waiting for the vet to come up. They are going to give her fluids and i managed to catch some wee in a bucket so they are going to test it. They are also worried she may not be eating due to colic so i just want them to check her out. She is trying to be so brave as usual. I just love her so much.
