I did my first competitive jumping with Sarnita since our Holland trip in June and me smashing my leg up in July. It was good to be back competing again and my recovery aim was always to be back jumping properly by Christmas which I feel we have now achieved.

Anyway we went to one of our local show centres Tall Trees (only a mere hour and a half away!) to do the BSJA. Got there relatively early to do some of the smaller open classes. I suppose due to Xmas and the cold weather not may there so ended up doing the last classes 1.10 and 1.15.

My 1.10 was very rusty a bit much hooking to the extent of putting 4 and 2 strides in a 3 stride related and 1 stride double! At least I know my lengthening and shortening exercises have been working! The jump off was better although I didn't push the time however we still came second as so few double clears.

In the 1.15 she jumped really neat and flowing for another double clear and another 2nd place. Really chuffed with her and certainly blew a few cobwebs away.

No photos but you are welcome to have a nose at the videos.

Seems v strange seeing Tall Trees after all these years!

If you haven't seen it for a bit it must of changed a lot. They have 2 outdoor arenas now as well.

Well done both of you - it must be a relief to have that first one out of the way and a real bonus to have done so well

. Onwards and upwards

They are both very impressive rounds....i wish i could be that consistent with Bo all the time...let alone after 6 months out

Have to say though...what an uninviting first fence to have lol! I haven't seen a Swedish oxer in the two years i've been bak jumping

Looks like she really enjoyed the outing and was glad to be out at a party again. Her canter was so balanced, she jumped nearly everything just out of her stride.
Well done.

That's such a co-incidence both you and Phil started back the same day!
It just shows how long it takes for serious injuries to heal.
Well done, I loved the vid, especially the odd buck Sarnita threw in against the clock.
The huge pat at the end made me smile too.
Our jumps were very low in comparison, they actually entered the higher classes but it was so cold and so late both decided to jump the low course instead and get home into the warm. Normally I stay in the box and keep the gas fire going so at least there is somewhere cosy to retreat to, but without me they couldn't use the fire unless they were in it..
I can forsee a few rows soon as C will want to take two horse and P one, and we have virtually converted the box to two to give us lots of space for tack etc. Perhaps they can toss a coin...

Thats great news! well done, hows the leg doing?

[/ QUOTE ]

The leg is improving all the time. I haven't got full flexibility in the ankle and doubt it will ever be as good but the strength is starting to come back. They did say 6 - 9 months minimum for full recovery so hopefully a bit more improvement to come.

Have to agree with you there although it was a class of experienced horses and did seem to jump ok. They do use them occasionly down here but not usually as the first fence!

Fantastic! Does the leg hurt/affect you in way?

Can't quite get the weight in the heel on that side at the moment so not quite so stable. Hopefully there is more improvement to come.

YAY
So nice to see you two competing again, giggled at Sarnies thought to you getting her in too deep to the double lol
Her tail was like a windmilll too

Well done.

Glad that you are back out competing - i'm sure that the more you do the better the leg will feel. Now you can start looking forward to 2008.

Well done!!
They looked like nice courses! Every time I go to TT the courses are HORRIBLE!! Umm may have to try again soon!

Are they not meant to have either 2 doubles or 1 triple in a 1.10 & 1.15? I thought they did?! And a water tray?

[/ QUOTE ]

Probably not sure about the rules for Amature classess. The course building was a little unimaginative anyway andthe fences were quite airy which I think why there were so few clears.
