Groom at our yard rode George for me this morning whilst I was at work and after making sure he was sound she really put him through his paces and rang me after to say how gorgeous he was

So this evening with some trepidation and still feeling rather stiff/sore I clambered up, I decided not to canter as I didn't think my nerves or muscles could take it, but of course it was still good old George and he was as good as gold

Groom is riding out with me tomorrow on a v sensible horse for a walk hack, so slowly getting back into the swing.

Sorry bit of a boring self indulgent post

Great news - just think of the longer days and spring weather coming and the lovely rides you'll have (writing this with rain and wind lashing the window!)

OMG just read your post from couple of days ago to find out what happened. What a shock for you!
You must now do lots of things IN your comfort zone eg walk out in company. You will soon be ready to hack out with confidence again. Remind yourself how well you were doing with George and be honest - we know horses are unpredictable, that's why we love them! Even the most perfect horse is capable of doing what George did - it's natural for them but you'll see that next time you go past that spot, he'll be fine. That's horses for ya!!

thats great news - you should be really pleased with yourself....what a lovely horse...he obviously loves you very much and wants to take care of you....
Keep thinking positive and you will be back on him in no time :0)

Great news hun, now forget it ever happened.

We would all like to see piccies of your bruises now as proof that our sympathies are warranted

Well done Trish - so glad you are feeling better and v brave of you to get back on so soon.

Enjoy going out tomorrow - it should be a lively morning!

Fantastic news, glad you got back on board good luck with the hack, take care of yourself the bruises and stiffness will soon be gone

Sorry to read about your nasty incident, and well done for finding the courage to get back on again despite your pain. You are lucky to have good support too, it can make all the difference.
Mine are all being a bit crazy at the moment, I just have to tell myself it is just a phase and they will be their normal sensible selves again soon!
