I am a happy bunny today as I sat on my mare for the first time in over 5 months since she had her KS operation to remove 4 pieces of vertabrae in a case that the vets had said was quite severe ( she had 7 impingements of the thoracic spine)
She was an absolute star, had her ears pricked and didn't move a muscle when I put my foot in the stirrup to get on ( using a mounting block of course) She went forwards, backwards and sideways ( all asked for and in walk) without any fuss and it felt a privalage to be back on board again.
So for the next few weeks it will be lots of walking, starting off with short periods and building up to an hour and then introducing some trot. I'm not in any hurry as it was a big operation she had.
Have attached a couple of piccys of my momentous occasion, but due to my daughter's inability to phathom out my camera, the photos aren't the best.
