My 9 year old boxer has just been diagnosed with spondylosis (bony spurs growing on the vertebrates of her spine) We are booked in for acupuncture starting next week. My previous boxer also had this condition and acupuncture helped her a lot.

I was just wondering if anyone had used the Back on Track products for treating this condition or other arthritic problems in their dogs, and also what worked best? The dog beds or rugs?

I cant speak for the dog products but i know the horse back on track stuff is very very good. never hear a bad word said about it and it works!

Thanks. Am very tempted to give it a try but don't want to spend money on something that is useless. I know there's no guarantee these things will work but nice to hear good reviews.

I use back on track for myself and my horse.

For me I wear the shorts to bed when I have a stiff lower back , without them I wake very stiff and sore if I've worn them its without a doubt less stiff

So for me it works well for stiff tight muscle pain

I have one for my dog who has hip dyslplasia, arthritis in his hips and spine, and spondylosis. He doesn't wear it all the time, I used it a lot in the winter if he was in the van under his fleece pyjamas, always if he was wet and needed drying to stop the damp getting into his bones, and sometimes at night if he had been stiff during the day. I have the mesh one so I can use it all year.

I have to say the most obvious difference is in the mornings after he has worn it - he is an absolute lunatic!! There is a definite temperature change in his back after wearing it, even when it is cold and he hasn't had another coat on top - it is a deeper temperature increase. I'm an osteopath so quite sensitive to feeling temp changes in tissues.

They do fit a bit weird, I wish I had gone a size smaller, so worth thinking about going down a size. I don't generally use mine for walking because of the "skirt" that goes over the tail - if I put his tail through the tail hole then it all gets a bit messy when he does his business, and if I don't then it tends to slip too much, but that might be fixed by a smaller size.

Meant to say, I have used it on myself and a friend with psoriatic arthritis and you definitely feel the heat then!! And with mine it can't just be the fact you are covering your skin because it is just mesh, there is no padding or insulation at all.
