Can anyone recommend a good back person in Kent, I am near Maidstone.

My horse was being ridden and everything was fine and then he got kicked in the field and was off work for 6 weeks, the kick wasnt that bad and he wasnt lame on that leg (the front right), but it just took ages to heal. Once he was better and we tried to ride him again he was literally sitting down and falling to the left when we got on him and walked forward.

Ive had a back person out twice to see him recently who said his back was sore but improving and she said he was ready to be ridden again. So we got on him bareback this time, just to see how he reacted to the weight on his back and he still walked off crooked on the left side and his back left leg could not move properly.

Its so weird, but i am now very worried about him. He is sound on the lunge and when trotted up and moves freely in the field ??????????

Thank you

The term "back person" is rather vague,if you want a qualified physio or chiro the best person to ask is your vet, I would think that as your horse is showing unusual signs that a vet should be the first person to call now anyway, they can then refer if required.
The horse should not be treated without vets permission and a professional therapist will always ask for this from your vet.

This.

You don't mention the area which was affected by the kick - you say he wasn't lame but then you say it took a long time to heal. Was there a wound as a result of the kick?

Hi, he got kicked in the right front leg on the outside, very high up on the leg in the muscle, the cut was deep, so it took a long time to heal, he wasnt lame, just abit sore.

Am calling the vet out tomorrow,

I'm not sure if my lady does your area but I use Pippa Cossens from East Sussex, she's a qualified equine osteopath and has fixed issues with my horse that a vet had previously said was just him "being a bugger". She's very genuine, totally honest and brilliant at what she does. I can't recommend her highly enough. Everyone I've given her name to has used her ever since. Think she has her own website but if you'd like her number I can give it to you.

I would call the vet in the first instance to examine your horse as it sounds like its been going in for a while. then talk to them about someone they recommend to help correct any muscle wastage etc.
