Or not?

A friends horse has a soft "pad of fat" is the only way i can describe it. Its about the size of a hands palm, and its only slighty raised above the rest of her flesh.

Its sits to the one side of her spine, just about right in the middle of where a saddle would sit.

she doesnt flinch when you press on it, and shows no obivous signs of discomfort.

Should my friend be worried, should she call the vet?

Thanks!

Sounds similiar enough to a problem my friend had with her horse. turns out it was a combination of ill fitting saddle and her seat not being centered. Horse had been in the same saddle for about 3 years, but this had developed over time. my poor friend was gutted at the thought of the horse being uncomfortable, but like that, he didnt flinch when you touched it. New saddle and some lessons sorted it out. Hope it helps.

excellent advice thanks for that! I had though it may have been an ill fitting saddle that has caused it. She has one that fits perfeclty now so hopefully it will get better. :)
