Hi, I may sound really bizarre but I keep wondering if my horse had a form of tying up the other day after a sponsored ride without the very obvious usual symptoms... is that possible? (not being a vet I could not say)
Basically I took her on a 10mile ride at the end of April. She was not fantastically fit and only really effectively been in work for 6 weeks prior due to missing lots of time due to bad winter weather as well as another break through abscess in foot etc. The ride was great but she went a bit loopy in the end so we ended up doing the odd canter sideways and the rest of it.
When we got back she was fine, but came out of her stable a bit stiff in her hinds (croup area) the morning after. I put her in the walker for a little while to loosen up any stiffness from standing in and then turned out. I continued with very light work the next few days and then she had a week off just after that as I was away.
I have a bit of a riddle of a horse with all sorts of conditions going on but she has a history of tying up as well as back problems. I am having her treated by a back person I trust every 3 months for the last 2 years but now she seemed to be very bad in her hinds what sort of damage could have come from the sponsored ride concerning this? I am very worried and will get the vet to check her through but I am just wondering now as I have all sorts of scenarios going through my head.
Sorry, it may be utterly confusing or mad to read, if it doesnt make sense please ignore
