As my final year thesis of my Equine Science degree i decided to research possible causes of back problems in horses with specific reference to saddle fit....or lack of it! The survey is completely anonymous and the questions are not designed to make owners feel bad if they answer no to some of the questions it is simply to gather information to gain a picture of practices amongst the equestrian community in terms of back care. i would really appreciate any experiences or views as to anything you feel is a contributory factor to the instance of bad backs that is often overlooked.

Please make sure you complete both parts of the questionnaire else your results will not be viable.
if you have more than 4 horses please just fill in with 4 in mind and make sure horse 1 is horse 1 throughout to be consistent.

Lots of Rose wine or alternative tipple for anybody getting this far!

many many thanks to everyone in advance!

Survey Part I

Survey Part II

Tried, left questions 6 + 8 blank because they don't apply. Can't work out if it's allowed me to submit it or not.

Well I tried to fill in your survey but it won't let me submit it and just flips to the top and says "please enter a positive number" which doesn't make sense

Have you contacted Anne Bondi at Solution Saddles about your research, as she has worked on many similar projects and may have some useful input for you.

Well, left empty the breeding and height questions and submitted it like that.
In the second part the questions are not very well constructed as for example you can't tick for all horses 'no experience of back problems' - I know that might be unusual, but I'm such a lucky one lol

sorry guys i'm not so technically minded i think i've sorted it now.

i'm not sure how its been suggested i construct it better but if its an I.T issue rather than a phraseology issue then i dont think i'm very clued up!!

i really appreciate your input i know its a faff so sorry for the mess up!

i think it wont let those of you in again who have already tried as it thinks you've done it already not sure there is much i can do there.

really appreciate you trying i didnt think it would be this much of a pain!

have to revert to good old paper version perhaps!

My horse had a back problem from the saddle. It was fairly obvious, deep bruising where the panels lie and pain at the base of her withers where it had slipped forward. No pain anywhere else.

I filled the survey in fine
