Back protectors for children... can you buy second hand?

I have a 5 year old... 3 foot 2 weighs 2 stone 6 and an 11 yr old who weighs 6 stone and about 5 foot...... Can I buy them second hand back protectors or are they like hats, really unadvisable?

Hats are definitely a no but body protectors are fine. Hats can be damaged severely and it not be visible but body protectors aren't made in the same way so unless there's a bit missing its fine to buy used.

You should get them professionally fitted. Or there are precise measuring guides available on manufacturers websites such as air o wear. It's not as simple as height and weight unfortunately!

Measure the children then pop onto the Rodney Powell website which will tell you the best size for each. There are a loads of second hand ones on eBay. My 4yr old is in her 2nd, the fit really well.

You need to check online for sizes as sizes vary from make to make. If you look a few up most will have a size chart that relates to their BP.
