Hi. I suffer with lower back pain even more so when im riding, its worse when im schooling, i wondered if there are any good back supports out there that you might recommend.

Ive suffered with it for years, although its getting worse slowly, and im not going to the Docs for him to tell me to stop riding! I am carrying a bit too much weight at the mo and it probably isnt helping matters, i plan to rectify that ;)

Thanks :)

I know some people are gonna diss me for this but i HATE wearing BPs, i obviously do for XC because you have to. I would prefer a back support rather than a BP ;)

thanks tho :)

Would suggest you speak to an Osteopath too. They should be able to help you and perhaps make a suggestion on best support to wear. If you find someone who rides then they are likely to be more supportive.

None of the professionals I see for my back (pilates teacher/chiropractor/physio/massage) would recommend a back support for long-term use, as they just tend to make your back weaker in the end. Ideally you should work on strengthening weak, long muscles and releasing/suppling tight, short ones so your back becomes self-supporting - well, that's what they told me, anyway, and I do what I'm told ;) :p

Sorry - haven't really answered your Q!

I have a fiend who does Bowen Treatment (horses and humans), maybe i should have a word with her ;)

thanks for your advice peeps. I will defo check out the Prolite Support and speak to my friend as well :)

Very pleased with the ones that Aldi and Lidl sell, last week at Aldi they were about 8 euros ish.
Thats in France, not sure if uk sell them.
I have had a Professionals Choice for years, dead expensive at the time, but worth every penny,
I really do find they help, as does the Mackenzie technique, Good luck !
