Am not long home from another day's hunting with Big Ears. My confidence had taken a bit of a knock last week, through no fault of the horse, so today was an attempt to get over my fear of falling off/losing control.

I had a GREAT time! Big Ears is only 4 and it was only her fifth time hunting, but I looked around at some of the horses misbehaving and thought 'what good girl you are miss!'. She floated over the very soft ground (of which there was lots!) by pacing, stood to let me open and close gates (which we have never tried before) and even trotted away from the group when I went to find a better viewpoint to watch the hounds. Better still, she now has a complete grasp of canter! And it's all she wants to do! We cantered over here, we cantered over there. We did a bit more cantering just to top it all off! I had to tell her eventually that just because she can canter, doesn't mean that she should do it all the time. I'm quite happy with the pacing still at the moment!

This was just a quick update, I'm bursting I'm so pleased with how it all went. The family and OH are sick of hearing me bang on about how amazing my horse is, so I figured I'd make you guys sick of it too!

Over and out,

Sarah and Star
