Back Ulcers

Do you mean raw, weeping patches on the horses back? Who has said they are ulcers? Sorry to ask the obvious but if they are in the saddle area, are you sure they aren't sores caused by a badly fitting saddle or something sticking out in the saddle or numnah? If they are nowhere near the saddle area, they could be caused by a rug that the horse has had on for a long time. Sometimes, the place that eg the leg straps are sewn on the inside are poorly finished off and can cause rubs that eventually become sores. It could also be lice that have driven ned mad with the itchiness so he has rubbed and rubbed til he is raw. Have you got a pic you could post?
