Just wondering if anyone had had it done, and di it work for their horse?
Also has your horse gone back into competition?

How long did your horse have to have off after op?

My eventer ended up doing 3 suspensory's and with a lot of time off over about 2 1/2 yr his backhind suspensory has never really healed.

Just interested to hear peoples storries?

Thanks

mine had both hind suspensories done.she had a months box rest.a month paddock rest walking in hand twice daily then started slowly riding with regular checks.she appears to have made a good recovery.she has not gone back to competion ,my choice although contemplating it.

Horse on our yard has had this done recently and has been given exactly the same routine as above. Owner has been told he'll come back better than ever once fully recovered.

Do you know whether the horse on your yard was very lame at all before having the op?

My horse is now lame enough you can see it in walk.

Hi - sorry only just seen your question.

No horse wasn't obviously lame at all but had for a while been a bit awkward out on hacks, turning left etc. Was put down to behaviour but during a lesson, a new instructor spotted something in the hind legs. Following vet investigations, owner realised that the 'behaviour' issues (which were intermittent) were probably because the hinds were sore.

If you talk to izzwizz on here, she's much more familiar with the horse I'm referring to than me and might be able to give you more detailed info.

Good luck with your horse.
