Just thought i'd update you all with how backing Alee is going.
Have been on her 4/5 times now. I'm taking it slowly with her and just introducing ridden work for 10 mins once or twice per week.
I hadn't ridden her for a couple of weeks due to saddle not fitting. Saddler came on Sunday and completly forgetting what I was doing I left Alee in all day and arranged for the saddler to come at 5pm when the yard is at it busiest and Alee is at her silliest!!!
Any way got on board with my new Saddle company Saddle and she was full of it prancing around and being a complete idiot. I stayed on till she stood quietly then got off. Saddle was fine so far but saddler is coming back in a couple of weeks when Alee is calmer to have another look.
Put Alee out the next day and got her in again Monday evening YM put me on the lunge on her and she was a super star walk halt walk really good and not too wobbly at all.
Got on again yesterday and there wasn't anyone around to help. I made sure I rang OH before I got on and told him I would ring back in 1/2 an hour and if not to come and find me
.
She stood like an angel to be mounted and we managed 4 laps of our school and each rein with walking and stopping at each marker. This is the first time I have ridden her without a handler holding her on the ground for mounting and leading.
I am so proud of my girl she is a super star. Hoping to get some piccies tonight that I will post later.
