Tis finally time for Kaiser to be backed properly, yay! (sat on him over the winter, and had been lead around for a few minutes previously.)

Today was the second time on him, he was brilliant. Very responsive on his 'good' rein, and almost as good on the 'bad' rein :)

He seems to be happier in work- have been lunging and long reining for a while now. He's growing up fast and needed something to keep his brain interested :)

Very happy with the boy :)

Well done - you are so lucky to be backing him yourself. We have a young horse who is away at the mo being backed. He is getting on really well but it would have been nice to have been able to do it ourselves, but we lack experience!

Anyway, hope Kaiser continues to do well.

Thanks everyone :)

Thank you! This is my first one, so will have a lot of help along the way, but wanted to do it all myself :) Hope yours goes well :)

Confused, did you start backing him in the winter (snowy vid) and then stop for some reason?

He is gorgeous - what is his breeding?

Good luck

It is exciting isn't it?! Love the beaming grin on your face! He is beautiful.

My 4 year old is starting next week. I've done groundwork with him since I've had him as a weanling, and have done everything up to lunging, long reining, leaning and taking out in hand for walks around the village...I don't have the time to do the next stage myself which is why someone else is doing it.

I can't wait!

One question - what were your emotions like when you first sat on him? I've had a build up of 3.5 years and can envisage myself with cheeks that hurt from happy smiling and also bursting into tears with happiness!

I will be posting updates on here too :)

May I ask what make his boots are, they look lovely too :D

The boots are Clarendon- think they are the competition ones... :)
