Teeth / mouth all healed up so bridle now on and she's quite happy - NS starter bit seems to be agreeing with her after all.

The broncing round the school with the saddle on has reduced to mostly nothing.

Pilot - to - be was feeling brave so he put the dummy over her then watched it fly past his head two seconds later

Dummy pilot has been on a few times since and she's only bucked it off twice (no wonder it hangs so limply - it must have broken every bone in it's body

)

She's now starting to look like a 'proper' horse though is, I think, forgetting who 'mum' is since she strutted quite calmly past me in a full set of tack on her way to the school last night.

Did you make that dummy pilot yourself??? If so, can you tell me how (PM me)?

If you bought it... where? Need one of those! Not prepared to break the bones in my own body!!!

That's really quite interesting that she is being backed using a dummy. Is there a reason for this or is it just standard practice for the person doing the backing? I've never heard of anyone that has backed this way, justa bit curious as to how common it is!

No, it belongs to the person doing the backing - there was one for sale on ebay the other day though

The horse in question is, ehm, quite spirited

However, he also likes them to be bearing weight on their backs in walk trot and canter before he tries to get on - at least then it's not such a big surprise!

On Ebay??? What was it called????

Well it sounds like she is making this an entertaining experience for herself! Also sounds like she's getting somewhere - what stage do you get the chance to get on board?
