I've had a real mixed day today. Most of the day has been bloody awful trying to explain to the vets, without *completely* losing my cool, why I am not happy to have been kept waiting until 3pm this afternoon for the vet to turn up (they were supposed to have been here in the morning!).
Are vets / farriers incapable of phoning if they are running late? I wouldn't mind so much if they at least told me what they were doing.
When I booked the vets 2 weeks ago to do jabs for the horses, jabs for the dogs and to arrange a passport for the horse I have just had in, they said fine - no problems - we will phone you 9am to confirm a time. I had explained to them that I do need to go to work in order to earn money to pay the bills they send, and if they were going to come in the afternoon that was fine - but let me know and then I could go to work in the morning.
10am comes this morning - and still no phone call - so I phone them - get told the vet will be coming at 12 - THAT ISN'T BLOODY MORNING!!!
Then at 12.30 i get another phone call - "Oh the vet will be with you 3pm!!" No reasons no apologies nothing. BY this time I am not very happy. BY the time the vet had been I have missed a whole days work and pay.
WHen vet finally gets here, she looks at rupert and tells me that they don't do the drawings for the passports (funny - they did the other pony.....
).
However, in between times I took my girly out for a lovely ride, in the sunshine! It was so lovely - and she is so beautiful and good! Me and Abi have come SUCH a long way in the last 6 months - and we are getting on so well now - and I love her to bits!
So good day = sunshine and beautiful lovely horses
Bad day - grrrrrr bloody vets!
Are there actually any decent reliable vets in SW cornwall that don't charge the earth and do manage to do what they say they will when you make the booking????
